The GISSA (Geelong Indipendent Schools Sports Association) is one of the premier Secondary school sporting organisations in the Geelong region. The following schools are affiliated with GISSA:

- Geelong Grammar
- Kardinia International College
- St. Ignatius College
- St. Josephs College
- Clonard College
- Covenant College
- Geelong Baptist College 

Covenant College competes selectively in GISSA competition throughout the year as our smaller numbers, compared to some of the rival schools, means we are inhibited in fielding teams in some sports. Nevertheless, as the Covenant Warriors, Covenant College will be competing in more GISSA Competitions in 2009 than in any year previous. This is a result of our rising standard in key sports such as Basketball, Soccer, Track & Field and Cross Country. We are committed to competing with the biggest schools in Geelong and being successful in the process.

In 2007, Covenant College’s previous showing in the GISSA Athletics, held at Landy Field, we won the Girls 15 Year Old Division, led by Athletics phenoms Gianni Otienno, Cassie Brown and Olivia Todd. Considering they, along with an ever accumulating talent base of student athletes, are available for competition in 2009, we aim to begin the era of Covenant Warriors at GISSA with signficant success.

The first GISSA competition for the year is the upcoming GISSA Cross Country, held on Wednesday, 13th May at Geelong Grammar.
